People are rarely surprised when I tell them I'm a wedding DJ, but they usually are when I tell them I'm also a marriage celebrant. I don't know exactly what to make of this - but it's no big deal, because I love what I do, and I reckon I’m pretty damn good at it.

I spent a long time running cables, tuning speakers, and burning my hands on stage lights in the world of corporate events before it dawned on me: conferences are not parties, and I was not having a good time. From that day forward (after 30 days notice), work would be a good time. I burned my suit (hung it up in my wardrobe), put on a more comfortable suit, and became The Wedding Host.

In the meantime, I've also helped write a bunch of ads - mostly for Chicken Treat, but there's been a few others in there too, and more to come! Also my cat was in a Chicken Treat ad, but I didn't write that one - just loaned them the cat.

Weddings have been life for over 8 years now, but my love of music, making people dance, and telling their stories meant zero chance of winding up anywhere else. Other hobbies include: yelling at wildcats (the team, not strays), hooping, amateur handyman, awaiting package delivery, and laugh-snorting (it's hereditary).

But it's mostly weddings. I meet the coolest people, find the coolest music, have the best times, and I hope to see you at yours.

James was an incredible find! I immediately loved the idea of having our celebrant, MC and DJ all as one person purely for ease of organising a wedding! However it was even better than I expected because it meant that everything from the ceremony (aisle songs, vows etc) through to the reception (speeches, music etc) flowed so smoothly because James was in control of all of it. James was very organised in the lead up to the wedding and we loved taking the time to answer his survey questions. It made for a fun afternoon connecting and reminiscing with my partner and then hearing the information used during the ceremony was beautiful. James was the perfect DJ and host for our wedding. From the very beginning of the night, he brought such an incredible energy and set the tone for an amazing celebration.
